1. About
Polarity Shift on Argent Dawn (EU) might just be the place for you. We started out in June 2013 as a reroll guild and have since then moved on to current content raiding. Our humble beginnings have led to the fact that we are quite a closeknit guild with a low turnover. But, as we are looking to bolster our ranks, we NEED you.
We currently raid two days a week on Wednesdays and Sundays from 8.00pm server time until roughly 11.00 pm. We have cleared HM Normal and HC, have started BRF NM and Heroic with some progression in both. Please be aware that looking good on realm rankings isn’t our target, we just want to maintain steady progress and have a good time.
- "Wait a minute, that’s only two days of guaranteed raiding a week!"
We think this is plenty. Gone are the days that our members wanted glory and fancy titles, we just want to have some fun while we enjoy casual progress. Because of the nature of our guild and the variety of members two days is more than enough for us.
- "So, casual aye? Does that mean you all suck?"
Not at all! We are an amalgamation of skill and play styles. We have people with heroic raiding backgrounds, normal raiders and members who have just started out and are trying their best.
- "I really want to raid, but I have no experience…"
While most of us do have experience, be it in older expansions or even MoP, we still think that willingness to learn is more important than a Master’s degree in Lich King 25HC Pwning. However, if we point out that you're not performing up to scratch, we will expect you to change your ways.
- "What classes and roles are you looking for?"
This is the good news as we are currently on the lookout for someone who can be a back-up tank and possibly a healer. Due to rotation, even if you are a dps there is still a chance you can join us every now and then! We’re currently recruiting a number of classes including: Death Knights (especially helpful if you have a usable tank spec), Warrios (same as again as DK's), Druid (see previous two), Rogue, Warlock, Priest (DPS though off-spec healing is never bad) and finally Shaman (healing off-spec is also welcome).
- "I don’t want to raid, but I am looking for a fun guild. Is there a place for me?"
Of course there is! We encourage all our social members to take part in our guild shenanigans and even have a variety of events specifically for them. We would also like to encourage you to suggest events for us all to do, we want everyone to participate in making the guild a fun place to be!
- "18+? That’s ageist!"
Our 18+ rule is just a guideline for maturity. If you’re (a bit) younger than this, you can still apply, but be aware that the bulk of our guild are in their midtwenties to late thirties. If, for instance, serious life matters are being discussed, we expect you to act mature. (No ‘LoLz Gais!!!! I JuzT pWned dis nub in da ASZ!!!’)
- "Sounds, errrr, serious… No banter then?"
It’d be a grave lie to claim that we’re well-adjusted grown-ups all the time. However, banter has a time and a place. Polarity Shift strives to include people from all walks of life and we pride ourselves on being LGBT and woman-friendly. While we have a thick skin and can take a bit of jokes, please be aware that severe sexism and homophobia will not go unpunished.
- "You haven’t said anything about religion or politics."
These subjects rarely come up in guildchat as we’re here to have fun rather than moan. If, for one reason or another, you feel the need to start a discussion, be aware that we expect you to stay civil, not make hasty assumptions and be open to other opinions. Any sort of intentional flamewar will result in a slapping.
- "Sounds amazing, but I don’t have money for a character transfer…" :'(
Don’t fret, while some of us did transfer, a number of people made fresh starts when they came to Argent Dawn. While it is not ideal for a raider to join us with a level 1 character, there are currently so many options to get raid ready in a couple of weeks that it is very doable. We also aim to help lowbies out, so they can join in on the fun sooner rather than later.
Ugh, Argent Dawn is an RP realm. What does that mean?
Argent Dawn is a high population realm with an excellent community and economy. While we don’t RP, we do expect our members to adhere to the rules of such a realm:
- No names like ‘IstabbztoKillNubs’
- Don’t interfere in RP with the intention of trolling. This is THEIR game and how they CHOOSE to play it. Imagine if a random bloke showed up in the middle of our raid and started calling us idiots. That wouldn’t be great, would it? If we find out about this, it’s an immediate guildkick.
- Don’t go to Goldshire, I repeat, don’t go to Goldshire.
- Be nice to each other! From my experience, there’s a lot of friendliness and courtesy on this server and we want our guild members to not only fit in, but also set a good example!
2. The Rules (Which we tried to keep concise!)

General
- Be nice and civil to each other
- Zero tolerance for racism, sexism and homophobia.
- We want to help you out, but we're not an unlimited supply of free goodies.
- You are a guild ambassador. Treat players like you want to be treated.
- Take part in guild activities and join in on the banter (you can even suggest activities if you have ideas)!
- Respect our realm! Argent Dawn is an RP-realm and we want to stay here for as long as possible without angering the community.

Raiding
- Have Mumble and relevant raiding addons installed.
- You don't have to talk, but it is seriously encouraged! Communication is key for a succesful raid.
- Be gemmed and enchanted (see Zeliek regarding enchants) Knowing your class is always helpful too.
- Invites go out between 7:50 and 8 Realm Time.
- If you're running late or can't attend even though you signed up, please let us know! (With as much notice as possible please).
- Code Word: Green
- Loot will be distributed via the great 'common sense'-method. If you're not sure what this entails, ask one of us and we'll explain it to you ;)
- Bring flasks. Though they can be picked up from the Guild Bank or a few of our other raiders. Try and bring your own when possible and should you have herbs to spare, donations to the Guild Bank for use by our alchemists is always appreciated.
- Have tomes of the clear mind handy!
- Be prepared to switch specs or to an alt when we require you to do so. Versatiliy is a great thing.
- Multiple guides are available, read up before you join the raid. We can often have forum posts up relating to specific bosses, so be sure to check them out.
- Enjoy yourself. If you're not having fun, then you should probably be playing another game.
